Napoleon!

Beitragvon Cornelius » Di 5. Mai 2015, 18:05

Hallo, liebe Freunde,
Jetzt habe ich ein merkwürtiges Problem. Folgendes ist passiert. Vor einigen Wochen bin ich zufällig gestoßen
-- im Internet -- auf folgendes Buch: Charles M. Moss, A First Greek Reader with Notes and Vocabulary, 1887.
Zu meinem Erstaunen sehe ich auf Seite 7, Aufgabe 18, den Titel: "Napoleon and the priest".
Ναπολέων μέν ποτε...........

"In 1885, Charles Melville Moss released a little volume entitled "A First Greek Reader." It was intended to help those with only a bare minimum knowledge of ancient Greek get familiarity with the language by reading adapted prose from the most famous authors as well as some original compositions.

Now 128 years later, Frederick D. Noe has translated the whole of this work into English for the first time, giving students the ability to check their labor in Greek against an accurate, idiomatic, and charming translation."

"Sometimes Moss even adapts more modern stories into the greek idiom, such as the story of William Tell."
